This research paper analyzes the emerging needs for teacher training in response to the rapid incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, highlighting the urgency of comprehensive training that includes technical, ethical, and pedagogical dimensions. It notes that teachers need to develop digital and AI literacy in order to understand, evaluate, and apply these tools in a critical and responsible manner.
It also emphasizes the importance of ethical training that enables educators to identify biases, promote algorithmic transparency, and safeguard academic integrity. The text underscores the need for flexible and continuous professional development programs, given the speed at which AI technologies evolve. It also presents effective training modalities such as workshops, online courses, case-based learning, and communities of practice, and recommends integrating AI as a cross-cutting element in both initial teacher education and ongoing professional development.
The document identifies significant structural challenges, such as unequal access to technological infrastructure, teacher resistance and anxiety toward AI, and the absence of clear ethical and regulatory frameworks. Quantitative data reveal a critical gap: low levels of confidence, a high lack of training, and a growing interest in acquiring AI-related skills. Overall, the analysis concludes that educational transformation requires strong institutional support, clear policies, and continuous teacher training to ensure the equitable, ethical, and effective integration of AI.
